A meeting between Arts Council England and afro-Swedish actors to find out the similarities and differences, history and advancement for African descent artists, in relation to best practice in the case for cultural diversity.
The session will contain a presentation by Deborah Williams, Senior Officer, Policy and Research, Equality and Diversity, Arts Council England, and on the work that the Arts Council England undertakes as a whole as well as the work that the Arts Council has been doing [past, present and future] around equality and diversity.
It will also contain a discussion around black theatre in Sweden and coincides and what the opportunities are around this work.
Williams will also inform about Arts Council Great Britain’s perspective around policy, strategy and implementation, containing some case studies of what does and does not work and how their current approach ‘the creative case for diversity’ is being rolled out across all funded organisations. also questions of what advice and warnings can we give each other and where do we find our solidarity.
